Bön in Dolpo explores the story of the ancient Zhang Zhung kingdom and Bön practices that have persisted for centuries in this region of Nepal, where texts and oral teachings continue in an unbroken lineage from ancient times to the present day. With the help of Geshe Nyima Kunchap of Dolpo, we investigate Bön traditions and Tibetan medicine in relation to Dolpo’s sacred landscape. We explore regional medical clinics and local schools teaching Tibetan language and culture to preserve Bön and Tibetan customs.
